Job summary

PDS Defense, Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to support maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and office facilities.

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background and is versatile in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general equipment repair. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical systems, install branch circuits, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform carpentry and plumbing tasks.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Clean, valid New York State driver’s license.
• US citizenship is required.
• Willingness to travel between Amherst-area locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on building infrastructure, machinery, and manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect for maintenance needs to prevent equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, machinery, and facility equipment.
• Read blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, layouts, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Install, modify, and repair branch circuit electrical distribution systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment to complete tasks.
• Perform carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment repair.
• Assist facility moves and furniture reconfiguration when required.
• Work occasional non-standard hours to complete tasks.
