As an Electrical Motor Hardware Engineer II, you will design, develop, and validate low-voltage electromechanical components, such as solenoids, electric actuators, and electric motors, along with related products, assemblies, and systems for off-highway mobile applications. You will utilize established development processes from concept through production, making necessary modifications as required.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead component engineering for electro-mechanical components, specifically electric actuators, including research, development, and evaluation of design concepts based on requirements for various AG and CE applications.
  2. Evaluate new and existing designs for functionality and compliance with electrical qualification tests.
  3. Document component requirements in technical specifications for new designs and current product applications.
  4. Develop, review, and report on component design validation plans (DVP & DVPR) and support vehicle-level tests.
  5. Utilize prototypes to validate new designs and subsystems.
  6. Document functional specifications for components, including integration with vehicles.
  7. Create and update documentation such as design quality procedures, DFMEAs, and test specifications throughout all product development phases.
  8. Review 8D, 5 Why, and Kaizen processes for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  9. Lead technical discussions with suppliers during various stages of product development.
  10. Facilitate technical discussions between cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and supplier quality.
  11. Participate in schematic reviews, design reviews, DMUs, and hardware requirement assessments.
  12. Understand the purpose, application, and feasibility of global product development and hardware processes for new products and quality resolution.
  13. Support enhancements of existing products or processes.

The annual salary for this role ranges from $84,375 to $112,500, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a strong electro-mechanical design background.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in developing electro-mechanical components such as electric actuators and motors, including electrical design, mechanical interfaces, and control systems.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in authoring product specifications and conducting component testing with accredited laboratories.
  • At least 1 year of project management experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
