Job summary

Apex Bridge Talent Group is seeking an Electrical Motor/Actuator Design Engineer for an onsite role in Irvine, CA. Direct hire with contract option. You will design, analyze, test, and document high-speed electric motors used in fans, pumps, and compressors.

Responsibilities include electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis using FEA/CFD, creating CAD models and manufacturing drawings, and developing performance specs and validation plans to ensure efficient, reliable motor operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles.
• Understanding of winding techniques, lamination stacks, magnets, and insulation systems.

• Supports SME in sizing, design, mechanical drawings, and testing of electric motors up to 70,000 rpm.

Job Description:

• Supports the department’s Subject Mater Expert (SME) in the sizing, design, mechanical drawings, and testing of electric motors operating at speeds up to 70,000 rpm used in our fans, pumps, and compressors.
• Performs electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis using simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
• Creates detailed CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develops motor performance specifications and validation test plans. Conducts performance testing (efficiency, torque, speed, thermal, vibration, noise).
• Analyzes and optimize motor efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles
• Understanding of winding techniques, lamination stacks, magnets, and insulation systems.
