Job summary

Dematic is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Technician for our Salt Lake City manufacturing team. You will read electrical blueprints, wire components, bend conduit, solder connectors, and test products to ensure quality before shipment.

The role requires hands-on electrical/electronic/controls experience, adherence to electrical codes and safety standards, and travel 25–35% as needed. Join a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a modern facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Approximately three years of hands-on electrical, electronic, or controls experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow electrical codes, specifications, and safety standards.
• Willingness to travel 25–35% or more.
• Comfort working at heights (ladder/scaffolding).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and documentation to build products to specification.
• Install and wire electrical components, including switches, motors, junction boxes, lighting, photocells, and control enclosures.
• Bend, install, and secure conduit to meet build and safety requirements.
• Solder electrical connectors with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Perform electrical checkout and functional testing to ensure products meet quality standards prior to shipment.
• Download and apply PLC-based programs and program drives according to engineering guidelines.
• Operate forklifts and cranes as needed to support manufacturing and material movement.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees and temporary team members in your work area.
