Job summary

Micro Precision in Richmond, VA is seeking a Calibration Technician to calibrate a variety of test instruments across electrical, industrial, and temperature equipment. You will collect calibration data, complete certifications, and maintain company standards.

You will work onsite with 50–75% fieldwork at customer facilities, communicate issues clearly by phone, email, or in person, and collaborate with Senior Technicians to share best practices while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of calibration experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate a variety of test instruments across electrical, industrial and temperature equipment.
• Maintain and check company standards as assigned by Lab Manager.
• Collect calibration data and record in data sheets; complete certifications including out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Share knowledge with and train other team members on calibration best practices.
• Observe safety and quality standards in all tasks and communicate issues to customers and coworkers.

About this position

Description:

• Responsible for calibrating a variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:
• Electrical Equipment
• Industrial Equipment
• Temperature Equipment
• Perform standards maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager
• Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
• Continue to be trained in all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share gained knowledge and other best practices with other team members
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in the performance of tasks and comply with the company
• Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person and through email

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience required
• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic Knowledge of Mechanical and Dimensional equipment preferred
• Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred
• Basic mathematics understandingExcellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and under the supervision of Senior Technicians
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance

Work Environment

• Work performed in the local laboratory and at customer facilities
• Onsite time to 50%-75%, with per diem
