Job summary

Micro Precision Calibration Inc. is seeking a Calibration Technician responsible for calibrating a range of test instruments in electrical, industrial, and temperature equipment. You will collect data, document results, and ensure certifications are completed, including noting any out-of-tolerance conditions.

The role requires strong math skills, good communication, and the ability to work with MS Word and Excel. Training is available, with travel up to 25% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and dimensional equipment.
• Experience with basic instrumentation and manual tools.
• Solid mathematics understanding.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate a variety of test instruments across electrical, industrial, and temperature equipment.
• Maintain and check company standards as assigned by Lab Manager.
• Collect calibration data and document on data sheets; complete calibrations and note out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
• Observe safety and quality standards in all tasks.
• Communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers via phone, in person, and email.

Description

• Responsible for calibrating a variety of test instruments for one or more skill areas, such as:

1. Electrical Equipment
2. Industrial Equipment
3. Temperature Equipment

• Perform standards maintenance & checking of company standards if assigned by Lab Manager
• Collect calibration data and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration certifications, including out of tolerance conditions.
• Continue to be trained in all aspects of Micro Precision Calibration Services and share gained knowledge and other best practices with other team members
• Observe safety precautions and quality standards in the performance of tasks and comply with the company
• Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person and through email

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic Knowledge of Mechanical and Dimensional equipment preferred
• Experience in basic instrumentation and manual tools preferred
• Basic mathematics understanding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work both independently and under the supervision of Senior Technicians
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance

Training

We accept applicants new to the calibration industry who are eager to learn

Work Environment

• Work performed in the local laboratory and at customer facilities
• Up to 25% out of town, overnight travel
