Job description

We’re hiring an Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join our Reactor & BOP Inspection Tooling team. This is a full-time (5 days per week), on-site position at our Madison, PA (Waltz Mill) facility.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

1. Provide field services at nuclear power plant sites, either operating or under construction, and support service center operations using high technology service equipment, reflecting Westinghouse’s commitment to safety and quality.
2. Support service center functions including equipment maintenance, checkout, decontamination, packing, unpacking, shipment preparation, material handling, and calibration. Review operational and maintenance procedures and drawings in detail.
3. Understand blueprints, layouts, sketches, and work orders to assess equipment specifications and determine tooling instructions, tools, materials, and operational sequences.
4. Support product engineering and training activities such as equipment modifications, setup, testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and qualifications. Document equipment performance issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
5. Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and stay current with technological advancements.
6. Engage in safety training to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety systems and equipment.
7. Practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, Industrial Health & Safety, ALARA principles, security requirements, and observe license requirements. Contribute observations in the shop and understand nuclear safety culture.
8. Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including cleaning, NDE technology, robotic systems, and computer networks.
9. Perform tasks under supervision with high quality, following procedures and guidelines. Maintain attention to detail and document quality issues.
10. Develop team-building skills, demonstrate customer service sensitivity, and focus on creative problem solving.
11. This role involves extensive travel, maintaining “Unescorted Access” status, and working with hazardous materials.

Who You Are:

1. Associate's degree or equivalent required.
2. 0-3 years of related experience preferred, with demonstrated mechanical, networking, or electronic aptitude skills.
3. Ability to travel extensively, possibly for months at a time during spring and fall.
