a16z-speedrun in San Francisco seeks an engineer to design mechanical components, mounts, and enclosures for electronics and controls on heavy equipment, and to design electrical power distribution and control interfaces.

You will integrate hardware with vehicle systems and autonomy software, support prototype builds and field testing, and produce clear CAD, schematics, and BOM documentation for manufacturing and service. Collaboration with autonomy, software, and operations teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering (MechE + EE)
• Experience designing or integrating electromechanical systems
• Ability to produce clean mechanical and electrical documentation
• Comfortable working from concept through prototype and into real-world testing
• CAD proficiency
• DFM awareness
• Electrical systems design (power distribution, wiring, and control interfaces)
• Electromechanical integration
• Experience with EDA tools
