Entegris in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Co‑Op for the Spring 2027 season. The 6‑month assignment will support build, testing, and continuous improvement of electrical assemblies in a fast‑paced production environment.

You will help develop manufacturing processes, perform root‑cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality and safety on the production floor. 40 hours/week, Jan–June, in a hands‑on engineering role.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering (Spring 2027 or later).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiar with basic hand tools and standard lab/test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).

This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Co‑Op, you will support the build, testing, and continuous improvement of electrical and electromechanical assemblies within a fast‑paced production environment.This role contributes to developing and refining manufacturing processes, assisting with assembly troubleshooting, and validating electrical components and sub‑systems.Responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining clear and accurate work instructions, ensuring operators have the correct documentation to perform builds safely and consistently. The position also supports root‑cause analysis for defects, collaborates with cross‑functional teams on new product introductions, and drives improvements that enhance product quality, workflow efficiency, and operator safety. Additional focus areas include identifying ergonomic or process‑related risks, proposing corrective actions, and helping implement safer, more reliable manufacturing practices across the production floor.What You’ll Do:Support the build, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electromechanical assembliesAssist in developing, refining, and validating manufacturing processes for electrical and mechanical sub‑systemsCreate, update, and maintain clear, accurate, and operator‑friendly work instructionsCollaborate with technicians and operators to ensure documentation reflects real production practicesPerform root‑cause analysis on defects and implement corrective and preventive actionsConduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping to identify improvement opportunitiesParticipate in equipment setup, calibration checks, and verification of test fixturesIdentify ergonomic, safety, and process‑related risks on the production floorRecommend and help implement safety improvements to reduce hazards and improve operator experienceAssist in data collection and analysis for yield, scrap, and process capability metricsWork cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve production issuesSupport continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, standard work)Help maintain and update engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control recordsProvide hands‑on support during engineering builds, pilot runs, and validation activitiesContribute to troubleshooting equipment and basic maintenance to minimize downtimeParticipate in design reviews by providing manufacturing‑focused feedbackAssist in developing test procedures and verifying electrical test equipment functionalityWhat We Seek:Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical fieldFoundational understanding of electrical circuits, components, and basic electromechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagramsExperience with basic hand tools, measurement devices, and standard lab/test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly issuesCompetence with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and data analysisAbility to write, update, and follow technical documentation such as work instructions or standard operating proceduresFamiliarity with lean manufacturing concepts (5S, standard work, waste reduction)Strong communication skills for working with technicians, operators, and cross‑functional engineering teamsDetail‑oriented mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and process consistencyAbility to work hands‑on in a production or lab environmentWillingness to learn new tools, processes, and equipment quicklyDesired Major(s) & Graduation Year:Electrical Engineering, graduating Spring 2027 or laterEligibility:Must be a currently enrolled studentAvailable to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through JuneMust be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op programEntegris is not currently hiring candidates for co-ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1-B lottery.WHY WORK AT ENTEGRIS?Lead.
