Job summary
Kaiser Aluminum in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to optimize highly automated manufacturing equipment, visual systems, automation, and advanced process control. The role develops, plans, and leads reliability and improvement projects across our aluminum casting and extrusion plant.
Responsibilities include providing technical support to Operations and Maintenance, leading cross-functional improvements, and mentoring staff to enhance equipment knowledge and process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing operation experience.
- Proficient with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and servo motors/drives.
- Robot programming experience, preferably Fanuc.
- Strong data analysis to identify and measure improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional process improvements.
- Document all technical work thoroughly.
- Lead reliability and Six Sigma projects where applicable.
- Mentor employees to grow equipment/process knowledge.
- Support plant safety initiatives and industrial electrical systems.
- Work on hands-on projects from conception to completion.
- Eliminate waste through reliability improvements.
