Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a maintenance technician in Tanner, AL to perform electrical and instrumentation tasks in an industrial manufacturing setting. The role involves planning, executing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting a range of equipment including furnaces, presses, hydraulic systems, engines, motors, pumps, and conveyor systems.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, an AS degree in Electrical/Manufacturing Controls (PLCs), and at least 2 years

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
AS degree in Electrical/Manufacturing Controls (PLCs) preferred.
2+ years of relevant electrical/instrumentation experience in industrial manufacturing.
Strong experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens S7 PLCs.
Ability to read and understand control logic, flow diagrams, instrument loops and control circuits.
Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screen; ability to meet fall protection requirements.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
Performs tasks for shutdowns/outages planning and execution.
Maintains up-to-date spare parts and drawings.
Communicates with maintenance and production to improve equipment reliability.
Locates problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices and using precision tools.
Removes/replaces defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
Controls downtime by informing production of routine preventative maintenance.
