Job summary

Hoover's Hatchery is seeking a Maintenance Technician - NMH in Portales, NM to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems across incubators, hatchers, and processing equipment. You will support incubation, hatching, and packaging operations with skilled electrical work and hands-on maintenance.

Shifts may vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays; candidates should be prepared for on-call duties and rapid response to alarms to keep the hatchery operating smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Journeyman electrician license or equivalent electrical certification preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial or commercial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and automation systems preferred.
• Work knowledge of the NEC preferred.
• Technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or broiler operations preferred.
• Vehicle maintenance and diagnostic experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems and components throughout the facility.
• Diagnoses electrical malfunctions using testing equipment to identify root cause and resolve issues.
• Performs preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Maintains environmental control systems to support hatchery operations.
• Reads and interprets electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Ensures safety protocols (LOTO, biosecurity) are followed and records activities.
