Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s BlueOval Battery Park Michigan project is building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility from the ground up. This role offers a front-row seat to the electrification movement and the chance to lead an agile maintenance team driving automated equipment and advanced robotics.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, calibrate devices, and ensure safety compliance while collaborating with operators and engineers to deliver world-class quality

Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognized certification or military equivalent.
  • Industrial electronics knowledge and NEC compliance.
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial controls.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and long hours.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspect and maintain automated production equipment to prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Calibrate critical measurement devices for process accuracy.
  • Monitor production processes to detect defects and maintain standards.
  • Interpret equipment data to identify improvements and optimizations.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Document maintenance activities and parts used in CMMS.
  • Collaborate with operators and engineers to address equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

What you’ll do. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Preventative Maintenance:
    • o Regularly inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing scheduled/preventative maintenance on automated production equipment like laser weld stations, AMRs, torque tooling and assembly robots to prevent breakdowns.
    • o Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level at all times.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • o Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues with production equipment, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Equipment Calibration:
    • o Performing routine calibrations on critical measurement devices to ensure accuracy in the production process.
  • Quality Control:
    • o Monitoring production processes to identify potential quality defects and taking corrective actions to maintain product quality standards.
  • Data Analysis:
    • o Interpreting equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • o Adhering to all safety procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any safety hazards immediately.
  • Documentation:
    • o Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used using a CMMS on a mobile platform.
  • Collaboration:
    • o Working closely with production operators, engineers, and other maintenance technicians to identify and address equipment issues.

Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

You’ll have
Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum requirements
  • Department of Labor or State Recognized Certification or Military Equivalent
  • Previous industrial electrical experience or combination of previous work experience and training equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Electronics and National Electrical Codes
  • Advanced knowledge of all electrical systems
  • Intermediate computer skills, reading, and interpreting data
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and weekends as necessary

  • Expert knowledge in mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Advanced computer skills, reading, and data interpretation
  • Fundamental knowledge of PLC (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
  • Knowledge and skills of conveyor, drive, robots, and computers

Rate of Pay and Benefits: $47.65 per hour

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
