Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s BlueOval Battery Park Michigan is launching a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility focused on advanced battery systems. This role offers hands-on responsibilities with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and data-driven improvements in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

You will work with production operators, engineers, and other maintenance technicians across day, night, and weekend shifts, ensuring equipment reliability and high quality

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements include a recognized certification or military equivalent.
  • Industrial mechanical experience or equivalent training.
  • Working knowledge of advanced mechanical principles.
  • Excellent computing skills, data interpretation, and literacy.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing preventative maintenance on automated production equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Calibrating critical measurement devices to ensure process accuracy.
  • Monitoring and improving production quality and equipment performance.
  • Ensuring safety procedures are followed and PPE is used.
  • Maintaining maintenance records in a CMMS and collaborating with operators and engineers.
  • Flexibly working day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

What you'll do...

Key Responsibilities May Include
Preventative Maintenance:
  • Regularly inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing scheduled/preventative maintenance on automated production equipment like laser weld stations, AMRs, torque tooling and assembly robots to prevent breakdowns.
  • Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level at all times.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues with production equipment, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Equipment Calibration:
  • Performing routine calibrations on critical measurement devices to ensure accuracy in the production process.
Quality Control:
  • Monitoring production processes to identify potential quality defects and taking corrective actions to maintain product quality standards.
Data Analysis:
  • Interpreting equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
Safety Compliance:
  • Adhering to all safety procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any safety hazards immediately.
Documentation:
  • Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used using a CMMS on a mobile platform.
Collaboration:
  • Working closely with production operators, engineers, and other maintenance technicians to identify and address equipment issues.

Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Minimum Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Department of Labor or State Recognized Certification, or Military Equivalent
  • Previous Industrial Mechanical experience or combination of previous work experience and training equivalent
  • Working knowledge of advanced mechanical principles
  • Exceptional computer skills, reading and data interpretation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Comfortable learning new technology
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous industrial mechanical experience or combination of previous work experience and training equivalent
  • Expert knowledge and experience of automation machinery specifications
  • Expert knowledge with machining, repairing and/or rebuilding machinery, and machine components using laths, mills, grinders etc
  • Advanced knowledge of all mechanical systems
  • Proficient in reading and comprehension of technical drawings and schematics
  • Advanced computer skills, reading, and interpreting data
  • Fundamental knowledge of PLC such as Siemens, Rockwell, etc.
  • Knowledge and skills of conveyors, drives, robots, and computers
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems including troubleshooting fans and blowers

Rate of Pay and Benefits: $46.25 per hour

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
