Job summary

Smirecyclers is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems on production equipment in Wichita, Kansas. The role requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs, and quickly addressing equipment failures to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, documenting repairs, supporting security camera systems, and assisting with special projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Journeyman Electrician license.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical layouts.
• Experience with PLCs and PLC-controlled equipment (preferred).

Requirements

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose problems using schematics, meters, and manuals.
• Repair electrical motors, sensors, wiring, and controls.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs), identify failed components, and replace defective components as needed.
• Respond promptly to production-equipment breakdowns and facility electrical-system failures, diagnose the cause, and complete appropriate repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility electrical systems; document completed work, repairs, and identified equipment issues; support security camera maintenance; and assist with assigned special projects.

Education and Experience:

The minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job at a satisfactory level.

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial setting (preferred)
• Journeyman Electrician license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The minimum level of knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job at a satisfactory level.

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical layouts.
• Mechanical and electrical repair experience.
• Experience with PLCs and PLC-controlled equipment. (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good customer service skills;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful
