Job summary

AllMetal Recycling, a division of Scrap Management Industries, is seeking a self-motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility electrical systems. You will work with PLCs, electrical and mechanical components, and security systems while supporting special projects.

Requirements include 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings and a Journeyman Electrician license.

Qualifications

• Strong reading of schematics, meters, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose problems using schematics, meters, and manuals.
• Repair electrical motors, sensors, wiring, and controls.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs, identify and replace defective components.
• Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns and facility electrical-system failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility electrical systems; document work and assist with special projects.

Description

AllMetal Recycling, a division of Scrap Management Industries is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility electrical systems. The technician will work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical and mechanical components, facility power systems, security cameras, and special projects.

Requirements

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose problems using schematics, meters, and manuals.
• Repair electrical motors, sensors, wiring, and controls.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs), identify failed components, and replace defective components as needed.
• Respond promptly to production-equipment breakdowns and facility electrical-system failures, diagnose the cause, and complete appropriate repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility electrical systems; document completed work, repairs, and identified equipment issues; support security camera maintenance; and assist with assigned special projects.

Education and Experience:

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial setting (preferred)
• Journeyman Electrician license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical layouts.
• Mechanical and electrical repair experience.
• Experience with PLCs and PLC-controlled equipment. (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good customer service skills;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish helpful

• Follow all company safety procedures and required protocols, including the proper selection, use, and maintenance of personal protective equipment
• Adhere to all local, state, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Walk and stand for long periods of time; walk and stand on uneven surfaces.
• Bend, stoop, and utilize hand tools
• Communicate by speech and hear audible warning signals.
• Visual acuity needed for constant observation
• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of 50 pounds or more.
