Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician at our West Chester, OH facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment to improve reliability, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Starting pay is $34.50 per hour with $2/hour shift differential for 2nd shift and beyond. Benefits include vacation, health and dental insurance, 401k, education assistance, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical knowledge with motor and drive troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair and maintain industrial machinery.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Respond to floor calls, troubleshoot and repair with urgency.
• Collaborate with maintenance team and leadership.
• Inspect and analyze mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
• Use hand and power tools and PPE as required.
• Support a safe working environment and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Demonstrate self-discipline and strong work ethic.
• Problem-solve with team to tackle challenging issues.

Salary & Benefits

• Starting pay is $34.50 and up depending on experience, skills and certifications
• $2/hr shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift

Shift

• Currently hiring for 2nd (3:00pm - 11:00pm) Shift.
• Employees must be available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability.
• Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Respond to unscheduled floor calls, troubleshoot, and perform repairs with a sense of urgency.
• Work in collaboration with a knowledgeable maintenance team and communicative leadership.
• Work with industrial machinery to inspect, repair or analyze mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring devices, testing instruments.
• Support our safe working environment by adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Willing and able to work any shift, holiday, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Provide a self-discipline work ethic.
• Critically problem-solve with team members to solve complicated and challenging problems.

The Experience You Will Bring:

Requirements:

• Industrial electrical knowledge with electric motor instillation and frequency drive troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Lenze, Siemens)
• Experience with reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and conveyors.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics, fluid, and pneumatics.

What Will Put You Ahead:

• At least two (2) years of industrial maintenance/military experience OR a two (2) year electrical mechanical maintenance degree.
• Experience with printing HP printing equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with troubleshooting PLC’s but no programing required (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
