Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Albion, MI corrugated sheet feeder plant. Join a safety‑driven team responsible for keeping complex equipment operating smoothly and reliably.

You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial mechanical and electrical systems while following rigorous safety procedures. The role requires adaptability to 1st/2nd/3rd shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or military environment.
  • Troubleshooting hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Reading electrical, hydraulic & mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and precision measurements.
  • Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, pulleys, shafts.
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, align, and maintain industrial mechanical and electrical equipment to improve reliability and uptime.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond with urgency to unplanned equipment issues.
  • Troubleshoot motors, drives, electrical controls, PLC/HMI hardware, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and production equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance team members to identify priorities and solve complex equipment problems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including labor hours and critical preventive-maintenance findings.
  • Follow all plant safety and environmental procedures, including required PPE.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the role and work in hot, cold, humid, dusty, and noisy industrial conditions.
  • Work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Georgia-Pacific is looking for Maintenance Technician for our Albion, MI corrugated sheet feeder plant!

Our Team

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team dedicated to safety at our Albion, MI sheet feeder plant! This position creates value by safely assisting with the production of corrugated sheets to be made into printed boxes for our valued customers. We offer opportunities for advancement as those openings occur.

Shift
  • Currently hiring for 1st Shift (7:00am - 3:00pm), 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) & 3rd Shift (11:00pm - 7:00am).
  • Employees must be available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Salary & Benefit
  • Starting pay is $35.50 per hour, with the actual starting rate depending on experience, skills, and certifications.

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • One or more years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or military environment; OR a two-year electrical controls degree and at least one year of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Experience with reading electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and precision measurements.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors, rollers, pulleys, and shafts.
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions.
What will Put You Ahead
  • Experience working in the corrugated packaging or the containerboard industry.
  • Experience troubleshooting boiler operations.
  • Experience with industrial air compressors.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience includes fluid handling and conveyor systems, accumulators, valve identification, application, and welding.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting electric motors up to 480V, and various electrical/controls components, such as relays, switches, drives, input & output cards.
