Job summary

Mactac North America in Moore, SC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production lines and facility systems. The role requires electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ability to fabricate and install equipment on the journeyman level.

Multiple shifts available including first and third shift. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, updating PLCs, and ensuring safe operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years in general production maintenance with craft skills (mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, machining).
• Certification in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and/or mechanical theory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply craft skills to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain equipment at journeyman level.
• Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems including motors, pumps, and PLCs.
• Install new machinery and move equipment for layout changes as required.
• Perform rigging, moving, erecting and hook-ups to achieve proper operating condition.
• Perform preventative maintenance including dismantling, re-assembly, lubrication, and calibration.

Summary

Provide various support to the overall facility maintenance, including support for the production lines, installation, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Duties include the application of one or more craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting & machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems at a journeyman level.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, furnaces, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, chemical tanks, PLCs, production machinery and instrumentation equipment.
• Installs new machinery and equipment and moves machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required.
• Work may include operations, such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook-ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition.
• Performs preventative maintenance activities of all types, including the most critical types requiring extensive dismantling, re-assembly, and critical adjustment, lubrication, and/or calibration.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Strong demonstrable knowledge of electronics, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, machining mechanical theory, and pneumatics.
• Previous experience supporting an industrial fluid application facility is preferable
• Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail are essential.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time without sitting as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, or crawling.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must maintain and account for assigned tools and equipment)
• Must have a valid Forklift Operator's license or pass required training. ( Able to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts in a production environment.)

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred - Certification in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and/or mechanical theory
• 3-5 years experience in general production maintenance, including craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings, and systems at the journeyman level.
