Job summary

DELTA STEEL seeks an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician to install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and facility systems. The role demands strong mechanical and electrical skills to keep equipment reliable and downtime minimal, while supporting safe plant operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and collaborating with production teams to maximize uptime. Overtime and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training, apprenticeship, or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in mechanical repair, industrial electrical troubleshooting, and motor controls (incl. VFDs).
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair motors, motor controls, drives, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on AC/DC circuits, control panels, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Install and modify electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and equipment per codes and standards.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Function
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
