Job Title:

Electrical Maintenance Technician

Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Must work safely, following all safety policies and procedures, and perform as a highly skilled maintenance professional capable of analyzing causes of breakdowns and executing corrective measures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Report accidents, near misses, or injuries immediately, regardless of severity.
2. Maintain high safety standards personally and encourage team adherence.
3. Follow basic industrial electrical codes and local compliance issues.
4. Read schematics and P&ID drawings.
5. Understand fusing, thermal overload protection, wire sizing, motor theory, etc.
6. Work with AC, DC, and Servo drive systems, troubleshooting and communicating with technical support as needed.
7. Understand and tune various control loops, including IM/APC systems and weight control equipment.
8. Maintain and troubleshoot burner systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical gear.
9. Develop and conduct preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
10. Keep accurate records and reports, manage electrical drawings, and ensure current versions of PLCs, Panel Views, and Drives are maintained.
11. Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and sensors.
12. Lead electrical root cause analysis and monitor critical motors.
13. Lead electrical downtime troubleshooting and coordinate electrical training for personnel.
14. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental policies, and plant rules.
15. Collaborate with outside contractors and lead electrical projects and automation efforts.
16. Participate in ongoing training for electrical and PLC systems.
17. Maintain a clean work area and practice good housekeeping.
18. Perform other duties as assigned, including rotating shifts and on-site attendance.

Skills and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills, electrical knowledge, PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprint reading, welding.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently or in a team, and communicate effectively in English.
• Attention to detail.

Computer and Software Competencies:

• Operate a computer or keyboard instruments.
