Job description

Electrical Maintenance Technician

Pay: $35-40+/hr. (depending on experience level)

Shift: Days; typically 7am - 3:30pm, but can vary depending on job site

Summary:

  • Provide quality installations, repair, preventive maintenance and inspections for these industrial systems, as well as other manufactures of similar systems. Candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting of electric overhead cranes. This position requires 75% local travel, 25% overnight travel with per diem on overnight travel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of work experience with similar types of equipment
  • Proven experience with electrical troubleshooting
  • Experienced with maintenance on overhead cranes
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals/drawings
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs
  • Ability to obtain customer security badge

Work Environment Considerations:

  • Work in various environments and working conditions that depend on the assignment
  • Overtime, weekends, and travel if needed
  • Working at heights & some heavy lifting
  • Must have valid Driver's License

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Maintenance on electric overhead cranes.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical equipment (strong knowledge of motor controls) is a plus.
  • Install, program, maintain, document and troubleshoot programmable logic controls and components. A plus
  • Familiarity with 480-volt 3-phase electricity, electrical meters and fuse changes
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Assemble and test motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data
  • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing
  • equipment as needed.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs
  • Provide a high level of communication with both Customer and Office.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Hiring Manager Notes:

  • Needs someone with experience working on electric overhead cranes.
  • Looking for people with electrical trouble shooting ability, VFD drive knowledge and mechanical ability.
  • Would need someone fairly strong skilled at this time not looking for a new person.
  • A tech with 10+ years can make in the $40+ dollar range. A couple of years experience will be less. Added benefit is that they are a ESOP company so they will generate stock at no cost to them.
