Job summary

Carpenter Technology is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Tanner, AL to perform maintenance on furnaces, presses, hydraulic systems, engines, motors, pumps, and conveyors. The role requires reading control logic, instrument loops, and drawings, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The candidate should have an AS in Electrical or Manufacturing Controls and 2+ years of industrial electrical/instrumentation experience, including PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens S7).

Responsibilities

• Safely performs assigned maintenance tasks and keeps the work area clean and compliant with procedures and regulations.

• Maintains up-to-date spare parts and drawings.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.* Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.* Performs job tasks for the planning and execution of shutdowns/outages.* Responsible to maintain up to date spare parts and drawings.* Provides communication to maintenance and production groups to maintain and enhance equipment reliability.* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and/or electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove/replace defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.* Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.* Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting parts, using calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
