Job summary

Berkshirejobs is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform varied maintenance duties across our production facilities in Massachusetts. The role requires multi-trade skills, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and comfort working at heights.

You will diagnose and repair electrical/instrumentation systems, lead major repair projects, and support preventive maintenance programs. A Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License is required (NH reciprocity), with relocation

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License is required.
• Experience with electrical/instrumentation maintenance is essential.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Reads manuals, work orders, drawings, and schematics to perform maintenance and service.
• Identifies required parts from equipment drawings.
• Inspects, diagnoses, and troubleshoots plant and equipment problems.
• Performs advanced electrical/instrumentation and basic mechanical work.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and maintains standard work for PM programs.
• Leads major repair projects and may substitute for Maintenance Supervisor during absences.
• Uses company systems to locate parts, log time, and record labor.

Job description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician, under limited supervision, performs varied maintenance duties necessary to ensure continuous operation of the production facilities. Must be skilled in multi-trades to handle emergencies and perform routine maintenance work. Skills may include electrical work, instrumentation repair, pneumatic, mechanical work, etc. Must be comfortable working with heights.

Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License Required (NH license qualifies for reciprocity)

Relocation considered for experienced out of area candidates!

This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.

Training Statement:

Training may be conducted across various shifts; however, upon successful completion of the training period, the selected candidate will be assigned to either the 2nd or 3rd shift

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, equipment drawings/blueprints, building drawings, and electrical/instrumentation schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
• Identifies required parts from equipment drawings.
• Inspects, diagnoses, and troubleshoots plant and mobile equipment/system problems.
• Performs advanced electrical/instrumentation skills and basic mechanical skills including, but not limited to, process control, computer automation systems analysis, electrical control, conduit bending, welding, cutting, repairing power transmission equipment, pneumatics, rigging, and troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment/systems as needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and performs or recommends repairs.
• Develops and follows standard work for preventive maintenance programs and recommends spare parts requirements and suggested inventory levels.
• Provides scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant and mobile equipment/systems.
• Communicates with others internal and external to the organization to obtain/provide information regarding equipment/system issues as needed.
• Leads major repair projects to be completed by maintenance team, ensuring successful completion.
• May be required to fill in for Maintenance Supervisor during vacations or absences.
• Utilizes established company computer systems to find MRO inventory items, historical information, issue inventory parts, and complete time card entries.
• Records pertinent labor information from work shift.
• Assumes a leadership role by promoting a positive work environment/attitude.
