WMFHA is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Lead to oversee electrical maintenance operations at our Newark, Ohio plant. This role leads a skilled maintenance team, ensures a safe working environment, and drives reliability and efficiency across electrical systems and equipment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and experience leading unionized hourly workers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience leading unionized hourly employees.
  • Lean manufacturing, Lean certification, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with data-driven decision making.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
  • Team-oriented, hands-on leadership balancing strategic and shop-floor involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of electrical maintenance operations and routine maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment, including risk assessments, incident follow-up, hazard identification, and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, power-system performance, and maintenance costs.
  • Monitor maintenance and safety performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support injury-free team performance.
  • Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, and maintenance protocols.
  • Apply knowledge of DCS controls, high-voltage equipment, PLCs, line drives, instrumentation, and data-acquisition systems.
  • Co-lead, coach, and develop a unionized primary maintenance workforce of approximately 22 employees.
  • Support craft training plans and foster a continuous-learning culture.
  • Partner with Production to improve machine performance, efficiency, and overall plant reliability.
  • Lead change effectively while encouraging employee engagement, open communication, teamwork, trust, and respect.
  • Ensure supervisory practices are consistent with the facility collective agreement and support grievance resolution.

Job description

The Electrical Maintenance Lead leads Electrical Maintenance Operations at a large manufacturing facility. They will be responsible for all aspects of the electrical maintenance process and must demonstrate the ability to motivate people, communicate clearly and credibly, and build effective working relationships with plant employees and leaders based on trust and respect. The Electrical Maintenance Lead reports to the Maintenance Leader and is expected to model the organization’s safety standards, leadership characteristics, values, purpose, and customer-focused mindset.

Electrical Maintenance Lead Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of electrical maintenance operations and routine maintenance of plant equipment.

Electrical Maintenance Lead Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on involvement.
