Job summary

HR Services Brand in North Carolina seeks a Maintenance Electrical/Controls Supervisor to lead electrical technicians, oversee repairs, and ensure safe, efficient operation of production equipment.

The role requires strong knowledge of motor control systems, PLCs, NEC 70E, and the ability to plan, procure supplies, train staff, and coordinate with outside contractors. This full-time onsite position offers growth and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience supervising in the electrical/electronic field.
  • Proficiency in electrical meters, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hacksaws, conduit tooling and soldering.
  • Knowledge of NEC 70E and motor control systems.
  • Ability to plan, procure supplies, and supervise maintenance tasks.
  • Strong team player with safety leadership and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Directs all electrical activities in the plant.
  • Plans and procures supplies for electrical tasks and machine overhauls.
  • Directs and trains staff on conduit installation and system wiring.
  • Interacts with outside contractors/vendors for equipment and parts pricing.
  • Diagnoses and repairs production equipment and water treatment components.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and ensures safety procedures are followed.
  • Oversees motor control systems including VFDs and PLCs.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Electrical/Controls Supervisor works with electrical technicians to make necessary repairs and adjustments to production equipment. Installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Directs all electrical activities in the plant
  • Be a safety leader with solid safety behaviors and demonstrated leadership.
  • Plans and Procures needed supplies for all electrical activities and machine overhauls
  • Direct and Train individuals to cut, bend, thread, and installs electrical conduit and systems.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breakers panels
  • Receives and issues work orders, diagnoses trouble and performs work as required
  • Notifies manager of any trouble of a complex nature
  • Diagnoses and makes repairs or adjustments to production equipment and water treatment plant equipment such as: dryers, tenter frames, pumps, etc
  • Performs preventative maintenance work as directed by management
  • Broad knowledge of motor control systems including variable frequency drives.
  • Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications.
  • Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises manager of any unsafe conditions
  • Extensive knowledge of all instrumentation for flow, temperature, pressure, turbidity, level, gases, and density.
  • Use Program Ladder Logic to aide in troubleshooting.
  • Works with outside contractors concerning new and existing equipment
  • Work with outside vendors to get the best prices on needed equipment and parts
  • Familiar with alarming, reporting software and remote access applications.
  • Familiar with multiple PLC manufactures and platforms.
  • Any other duties as required by Manager
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Employee should show proficiency in the use of electrical meters, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hacksaws, pipe threaders, conduit benders, and soldering irons
  • Experience in the installation and use of electrical wire, conduit, relays, fuses, DC drivers, AC drives, terminals, stripes, resistors, diodes, circuit boards, blueprints
  • Ability to perform all task in accordance with NEC 70E
  • 5 years’ experience Supervising in the electrical/electronic field
  • Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
