Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Specialist to provide oversight for power line maintenance, applying Safety and Construction Management Systems. This role will interpret drawings, plan and execute construction activities, and ensure safety and quality during field operations.

• Strong analytical skills with power system concepts (load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, relay coordination).
• Selection and specification of electrical systems and equipment (transformers, switchgear, relays, HV/MV).

Responsibilities

• Drawings/Standards – Interprets detail drawings and master diagrams; conceives construction logic and ensures constructability.
• Mechanical Construction – Understands typical methods for civil, structural, electrical, and piping work; applies safe construction practices.
• Inspection – Understands codes and work required to prepare for inspection.
• Lift Plans – Participates in review and development of lift plans and ensures requirements are followed.
• Project Implementation – Follows Construction processes and OMMS requirements for project delivery from design basis to turnover.
• PSSR – Guides and participates in PSSR reviews and prepares necessary paperwork.
• Planning – Develops or reviews contractor plans and refines activities.
• Safety – Applies ExxonMobil safety standards and conducts pre-task briefings and risk assessments.

What Role You Will Play On Our Team

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist provides oversight (inspection) and support for power line maintenance. This position follows Safety and Construction Management Systems are an integral part of the Electrical Maintenance Technician’s responsibility. PSMS (Personnel Safety Management System) and construction documents and procedures will be used to effectively manage Safety and field activity.

What You Will Do

Drawings/Standards – Interprets detail drawings, Master Flow Diagrams. Conceives the construction effort and logic required to construct the facilities & ensures constructability.

Mechanical Construction – Understands application of typical methods used for civil, structural, IC&E & piping construction. Also understands safest methods for executing these tasks.

Inspection – Understands codes, methods & the work required to prepare for inspection.

Lift Plans – Participates in the review & development of lift plans and ensures that lift plan requirements are followed.

Project Implementation – Understands and follows applicable Construction processes and OIMS requirements for construction of a project from (DB) Design Basis to turnover.

PSSR – Able to guide/participate in the PSSR review and develop the required paperwork to meet construction processes and Management of Change requirements.

Planning – Capable of developing a plan or reviewing a contractor’s plan & refining the associated activities and discipline.

Safety – Through knowledge and understanding of - ExxonMobil Safety Standards including but not limited to scaffolding, excavations, heavy equipment operations, cranes, rigging, concrete work, structural steel erection, welding, civil work, I/E, safety observations. and development of Construction Execution Plans. Understanding of pre-task briefings, Start work check, LSRA’s (Life Saving Rules & Actions) and LMRA’s (Last Minute Risk Assessment)

About You

Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as an electrical power systems supporting medium and/or high voltage equipment in the oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing industries.
• Strong analytical skills including understanding of power system concepts such as load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, protective relay coordination, etc.
• Selection & specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, HV/MV

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Knowledgeable of ERCOT and/or SPP grid design, operation and capabilities
• Leadership roles in operational or technical organizations with focus on electrical design, projects, or reliability
• Field based construction and/or operations experience
• Experience in Permian based oil & gas operations
