Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, and rotating equipment across our facilities in Louisiana. You will read and interpret mechanical drawings, coordinate shutdowns, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with technical training, experience in oil & gas facilities, and strong troubleshooting abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred).
• Mechanical maintenance experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, compressors, lubrication systems, valves, gearboxes, turbines, generators, and rotating equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective maintenance.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Read drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Perform equipment alignment, lubrication, and vibration checks.
• Assist with shutdowns, turnarounds, and facility projects.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders using SAP.
• Follow safety, environmental, and operational procedures at all times.
• Work with operations, engineers, and contractors to improve equipment reliability.

What Role You Will Play On Our Team

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment to ensure safe and reliable facility operations. Support production and maintenance goals using PSMS and WMS while complying with ExxonMobil safety and environmental standards.

What You Will Do

• Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, compressors, lubrication systems, valves, gearboxes, air compressors/air dryers, Turbines, generators, ariel coolers, and a variety of rotating equipment items.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective maintenance.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Perform equipment alignment, lubrication, and vibration checks.
• Assist with equipment shutdowns, turnarounds, and facility projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using SAP.
• Follow safety, environmental, and operational procedures at all times.
• Work with operations, engineers, and contractors to improve equipment reliability.

About You

Typical Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred).

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces when qualified.

• Participate in call-out rotation schedule and emergency response activities when required.
