Job summary

Catalyst Recruiting, Inc is seeking an electrical reliability/maintenance specialist for a chemical plant near Beaumont, TX. This role focuses on power systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, and very large motors up to 30,000 HP, with 4.1kV to 138kV.

Salary is $90k-$115k per year, with overtime after 40 hours and a company truck provided. The position requires hands-on operation, independent work, and collaboration with technicians and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with medium voltage systems in industrial plants.
• Extensive preventative and predictive maintenance experience on electrical systems.
• In-operation role requiring hands-on work, not a desk job.
• Chemical plant/oil/gas/refining experience preferred.
• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, substations, UPS, and drops.
• Plan, schedule, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance and NDT.
• Assist TAR planning and coordinate work with operations and engineering teams.
• Work independently or with technicians to execute maintenance tasks on large motors (>30,000 HP).
• Perform oil analysis and maintenance tasks on power systems.

Job description

A chemical company near Beaumont needs an electrical reliability/maintenance specialist.

This is a multi-faceted position working primarily in power systems.

Compensation: Salary of $90k - $115k plus overtime after 40 hrs and company truck

This is highly independent position to maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment including: Substations, Breakers, Switchgear, UPS systems and Transformers, synchronous motors up to 30,000 hp, with voltages 4.1kv to 138kv.

KEY MUST HAVE experience

• Experience working with at least medium voltage
• Maintenance and troubleshoot switchgear, relays, drops, substations
• Maintenance, repair, NDT, of the power systems that run a plant
• Must not need a visa now or in the future to legally work in the U.S.

Summary

• In-operation person that "does the work alone or with techs";
• Work in/around switchgear, transformers, substations, boxes, drops, UPS , etc
• Experience working with large motors - over 30,000HP.
• Plan, schedule, perform, preventative maintenance, NDT, oil analysis, etc, on all of the above
• Assist in TAR planning
• Planning and executing all levels of work; coordinating as needed with ops, engineering, etc

Requirements/preferred

• Specific education/certifications/licenses in order of preference:
• >licensed journeyman electrician
• >Associates or bachelors in electrical engineering technology or similar
• Must have at least 5 years with medium voltage
• Extensive experience in preventative and predictive maintenance/reliability with noted electrical systems.
• Significant in-operation experience; not a desk position!
• Experience in chemical plants, oil/gas processing and refining, petrochem, utilies/cogen, etc
• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa now or at any time in the future.

Salary position - $90k - $115k, OT and pickup
