Job summary

Bull Moose Tube Company in Texas seeks an experienced maintenance technician to service and repair electrical and mechanical systems across the production plant. You will inspect, diagnose, and maintain mills, slitters, PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance preferred.
• Good reading and communication skills; able to collaborate with team.
• Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, sensors, limit switches, and 3-phase 480V equipment; troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Read micrometer, caliper, gages, and tape measure for maintenance tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
• Read electrical blueprints and schematics for servicing.
• Operate forklift and overhead cranes as needed.
• Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.
• Follow universal safety rules and company procedures.
• Maintain quality and safety requirements; support continuous improvement.
• Work overtime and various shifts as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Understands and reinforces the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Performs assigned tasks in a manner reflecting and achieving the Vision consistent with the Company's Core Values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, & Growth and Results.

Responsible for electrical/mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds. Utilize and operate equipment, material, and tools to inspect, diagnose and repair machinery, including mills, slitter, tool room equipment, PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, 3-phase 480vt equipment, and other facility needs as they arise. Responsible for support capacity of all plant functions, maintaining equipment in an operable, safe manner. Must comply with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ability to read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages, and tape measure


2. Ability to perform required maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance


3. Ability to read electrical blueprints


4. Ability to drive a forklift and overhead cranes

1. Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude


2. Adhere to the Universal Safety Rules set forth by Bull Moose Tube


3. Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements and procedures

5. Able to work in an environment without climate control.


6. Able to work overtime and/or various shifts


7. Follow all applicable procedures and instructions including but not limited to preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvements, reporting of time and materials consumed as well as actively support business practices set forth by BMT, employees, contractors and other resources


8. Work with work groups and teams to support the sustainability and continuous improvements of BMT and stakeholders.


9. Performs all other duties as assigned and as reasonably expected of the position.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or GED


2. At least 3-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.


3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to read shop signs and instructions and collaborate with team members.


4. Basic mechanical skills including demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.


5. Knowledge of and experience with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, and 3-phase 480vt equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot the same.


6. Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, twist, bend, kneel, see, talk, hear


7. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently and on occasion lift or move 100 pounds.
