Job summary

Cummins is seeking an Electrical Maintenance – Level II to join our manufacturing team in Rocky Mount, NC. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and equipment.

You will troubleshoot controls, support preventive maintenance, and mentor junior technicians while maintaining high workmanship standards and compliance with HSE policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship is encouraged.
  • Ability to interpret electrical wiring and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance in manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical controls and PLC-based machines to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with team, mentor apprentices, and support TPM activities.
  • Promote safety, comply with HSE standards and quality requirements.

We are looking for a talented Electrical Maintenance – Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Looking for maintenance technicians that understands maintenance is not just a job, but realize it is a career that requires continuous learning and growth, similar to doctors. Doctors work on the body and maintenance works on the equipment for increased uptime and efficiency.

Education and formal training beyond high school diploma is not required but there is a requirement that the applicant must join our apprenticeship program and go to school.

Electrical technician will be responsible for PMs, maintaining and repairing equipment that range from the latest in technology to legacy equipment with some project and new installation activities.

Become competent and proficient in PLC logic and robotics if skillset has not already been acquired.

Operate within a team-based work environment that provides ample support for training, skill sharing and acquisition for your development.

Operates in a multi-craft capacity, performs electrical and mechanical maintenance.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Must have mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Support the maintenance organization with PMs and maintenance activities.

Experience in a manufacturing industry a plus.
