Job summary

Guernsey Electricity is seeking an Electrical Engineer Maintenance to support safe, reliable operation of power station electrical and control systems. The role includes supervision of maintenance fitting staff and contractors, with on-call responsibilities for out-of-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• HNC in electrical and electronics or control systems engineering (or equivalent by experience).
• In-depth knowledge and experience of electrical plant and control systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate fault finding, technical repairs and maintenance of electrical plant and control systems to ensure high reliability.
• Supervise internal and contractor staff on maintenance or project work, ensuring high standards and safe practices.
• Carry out high and medium voltage switching and ensure safe operation of plant and equipment per safety rules.
• Assist in budgeting and monitoring expenditure, including approval of invoices to meet efficiency targets.
• Maintain maintenance records using relevant IT systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and data protection.
