Job summary

Aegis Worldwide seeks an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support electrical systems, automation, and manufacturing equipment in our West Dundee, IL operation. This hands-on role focuses on troubleshooting, startup installations, and long-term reliability.

You will read schematics, support equipment installations, coordinate with vendors, and drive preventive maintenance. Siemens experience and PLC troubleshooting are a plus; a 2–4 year engineering degree is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and prints.
• Comfortable working directly on the production floor and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, HMIs, and industrial automation equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.
• Support equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Maintenance and Production to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support PLC troubleshooting and modifications as needed.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and vendors on electrical and automation projects.
• Support machine safety, electrical safety, controls, and safety circuits.
• Help manage critical electrical spare parts and maintenance inventory.
• Recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and engineering improvements.

We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in supporting and improving electrical systems, automation, and manufacturing equipment within a growing industrial operation.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with production, and improving equipment reliability. New machinery is coming online soon, making this a critical role in supporting equipment installations, startup, troubleshooting, and long-term maintenance.

A degree is not required - strong electrical maintenance technicians with the right experience are encouraged to apply.

What We're Looking For

• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
• Ability to read electrical schematics and prints
• Comfortable working directly on the production floor and troubleshooting issues as they arise
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus
• Siemens experience and exposure to European/metric equipment standards is a plus
• Experience supporting new equipment installations is a plus
• 2- or 4-year engineering degree is welcome, but not required

Location: West Dundee, IL

Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible)

Salary: $85,000-$100,000/year, with flexibility up to $120,000 for the right candidate
