Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a reliability-driven culture on the shop floor.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.

  • Develop maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Track KPIs and generate maintenance reports.

Job description

ATI in Millersburg, OR is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team! This is an onsite, day shift position typically working 7 AM to 3 PM Monday – Friday. Relocation assistance to the beautiful Albany, OR area is available.

A maintenance engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing maintenance activities to ensure that equipment, infrastructure, and facilities function reliably and efficiently. The role involves developing and implementing maintenance strategies aimed at increasing equipment reliability, reducing costs, and enhancing productivity. This role works collaboratively on the floor with craft workers to troubleshoot and improve equipment in the most critical area of our facility.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Contributes to a work environment that fosters a reliability‑driven culture.
  • Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions and ensure necessary repairs.
  • Monitor equipment and infrastructure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of machines and equipment.
  • Track the implementation and effectiveness of the maintenance strategy and identify recommended improvements for optimization.
  • Set and track Key Process Indicators (KPIs).
  • Create reports and maintain records of equipment maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for equipment upgrades.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • In lieu of a degree, electrical journeyman card or LME license.
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge in PLCs – preferably Allen‑Bradley.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical components on equipment such as furnaces, forges, extruding presses, rocker arm welders, shearing machines, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of transformers and power supply preferred.
  • Experience working with machines and equipment in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Reliability‑Centered Maintenance Mentality, including using a CMMS system and TPM processes preferred.
