Silgan Plastics is seeking a hands-on plant engineer to ensure safe operations and improve production efficiency. The role involves applying safety procedures, providing engineering support, and contributing to the design and improvement of blow molding and auxiliary equipment.

You will develop layouts and drawings, coordinate technical activities, and ensure compliance with codes and standards. The position requires strong communication across disciplines and a proactive approach to project

Jobbeschreibung

• Evaluates, and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. Know and apply written safety procedures. Provide engineering, PPE. or training solutions to high exposure areas based on near missed and accident reports. Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts. Complete projects/assignments safely and efficiently.
• Investigates, evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain and improve production efficiencies within the established standards or guidelines. Provide plant engineering support as required; PLC programming/program design, and electrical & mechanical troubleshooting. Support the design, improvement and fabrication of internally developed and purchased blow molding and auxiliary equipment.
• Develop and implement cost saving measures to current production methods/machines.
• Provide detailed electrical/mechanical drawings as needed. Assist in development of plant layouts and improvements. Effectively use verbal and written communications.
• Establishes and maintains project schedules from inception, to commissioning, to operations. Coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates assigned engineering/maintenance work.
• Monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and Silgan Plastics standards.
• Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines, project participants, and management.

All other duties as assigned.
