GE Vernova is seeking an Engineer in Generator Electrical Design to lead electrical design activities supporting R&D, Tendering, and Requisition Engineering in the U.S. market.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering with emphasis in Electric Power and Rotating Machinery; 1 year experience (Bachelor's degree with 2 years experience considered).
  • Proficiency with commercial Electro-magnetic packages.
  • 2 years of experience designing rotating electrical machinery, preferably large rotating machines.
  • English communication skills; second language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requisition electrical design activities for Turbogenerators, meeting schedules and cost objectives.
  • Adapt electrical standard documentation to project requirements and perform design analyses (electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, ventilation).
  • Support manufacturing, sourcing, erection and commissioning activities.
  • Interface with other design groups to ensure generator homogeneity and quality.

Job Description Summary

The Engineer in Generator Electrical Design is an individual contributor. The major thrust of this position is leading the electrical design activities within projects to support R&D, Tendering and Requisition Engineering.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform requisition electrical design activities for Turbogenerators, meeting schedules and cost objectives.
  • Adaptation of electrical standard documentation to project specific requirements
  • Perform Design Analysis in terms of electrical, electromagnetic, thermal and ventilation aspects
  • Support Manufacturing, Sourcing, Erection and Commissioning activities as required.
  • Interface with other design groups in the company.
  • Support Cost-out, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects
  • Response to customer and site questions, analyzing and assessing client specifications
  • Participation in tests and measurements at test stations, power plants, analysis of measurement results
  • Supervision and improvement of tools for calculating electric machines (electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, ventilation calculations) for the needs of configuration
  • Technical support for offers, sales, project management, Evaluation of erection, commissioning and operation electrical data
  • Possess an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of electrical design and analysis.
  • Work in close collaboration with design teams to ensure the homogeneity of the generator
  • Personal development in technical skills, in personal skills, and in culture and ability to keep budget, quality and schedule

Relocation consideration will only be for candidates within the U.S. This position description has been designed for the U.S. market candidates. Qualifications/Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering with emphasis in Electric Power and Rotating Machinery with 1 years of experience (Batchelor degree consideration with require 2 years of experience).
  • Proficiency with commercial Electro-magnetic packages.
  • 2 years of experience in designing rotating electrical machinery is required, preferably in large rotating machines
  • Desired Qualifications: Oral and written communication skills in English and preferable also in second language
  • High Energy team player, with good communication skills
  • Creative and Innovative mindset, focused upon quality, cost and performance.
  • Ability to learn, analytical mind, accuracy, self-reliance Pragmatic outlook Innovation, creativity and accountability
  • Ability to work with a multi-location and multi-cultural team

Relocation Assistance Provided

Yes For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
