Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc. is offering a Part-Time Electrical Line Worker Internship to gain hands-on experience in the electrical industry. Participants will attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College and work with a line crew Fridays.

The program lasts 14 weeks; books and tools are provided, and participants are paid only for days worked. Strong desire to learn, good communication, and a valid SC driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Will be enrolled and actively participating in Electrical Line Worker Third Class courses at Trident Technical College.
• Strong desire to learn and grow in the electrical trade.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license.
• Must be able to operate power tools and climb poles with hooks.
• Physical stamina; outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Must complete the Electrical Line Worker Third-Class courses at Trident Technical College.

Responsibilities

• Attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College; full-time Monday-Thursday, Fridays with the line crew.
• Learn tools and materials for construction and maintenance of electric lines.
• Gain knowledge, experience and skills to progress toward Apprentice Lineman I.
• Books and tools provided for the duration of the program.
• Program runs for 14 weeks; participants are paid for days worked.

ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER INTERNSHIP

Are you eager to gain hands-on experience in the electrical industry? We're looking for passionate individuals for a Part-Time Line worker Internship! This is an excellent opportunity to learn from skilled professionals, develop essential skills, and earn while you study.

What You'll Do:

This is an internship to attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College. Successful candidates will attend the program full time, Monday - Thursday each week and work with a Line Crew every Friday. During those days, you will learn the tools and materials needed for the construction and maintenance of electric lines, gain knowledge, experience and skills necessary to accept duties and responsibilities of an Apprentice Lineman I and to successfully complete and pass the Electrical Line Worker Third Class Program at Trident Technical College.

• Participants are only paid for days worked. This is not a full time position !
• Berkeley Electric Cooperative will provide books and tools for the duration of the program.
• This is a 14-week program !

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

• High school education or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE

• Will be enrolled and will be actively participating in the Electrical Line Worker Third Class courses at Trident Technical College.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Willing to gain effective working knowledge of Cooperative safety policies and procedures.

• Must have ability to successfully complete the Electrical Line Worker's Third-Class courses at Trident Technical College.

• Physical stamina and comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Outside work in various weather conditions.
• Regular work hours with some overtime and extended workdays due to emergencies.
• Climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting of heavy objects up to 100 pounds required.
