Job summary

The Electrical Lead Project Engineer at Kiewit oversees electrical engineering activities on site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. The role acts as the field SME for electrical systems, directing field engineers, subcontractors, and construction teams.

It serves as the primary liaison between site operations, design teams, and project management to meet goals, schedules, and quality standards; travel to various locations is required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Typically 5–10+ years in electrical field engineering, construction, commissioning, or related roles.
• Proven experience leading field engineering teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, protection schemes, and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical expertise for electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, lighting, and control systems.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications to support installation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide real-time resolutions to minimize schedule disruptions.
• Lead field engineering teams with guidance and technical support.
• Coordinate electrical activities with construction, mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams.
