Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a seasoned Estimator to lead the estimating function for large, multi-trade projects. You will prepare budgets, concept and detailed estimates, and guide teams across functions to deliver accurate, timely results.

You will assemble materials, prequalify vendor proposals, assist the Chief Estimator with presentations, and ensure deliverables align with project scope and schedules. Strong leadership, communication, and industry knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and or related experience
• Minimum 8 years' relevant experience, including 3 years' people and project management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Responsibilities

• Determines and assembles materials required for preparation of an estimate
• Assists Chief Estimator with preparing estimate presentations, budget reports and estimating documents for projects and client presentations
• Develops realistic deliverables, timelines, and measures of success; determines and allocates resources; communicates progress with key stakeholders
• Delegates work to team. Provides performance feedback and coaching as necessary
• Oversees and performs red-lining documents at all levels
• Negotiates with vendors as necessary
• Implements industry standards and changes; keeps current of industry standards and best practices
