Job summary

PCL Construction in Abilene, Texas is seeking an Electrical Journeyman to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures on a commercial project. The role involves handling conduit work, wiring, readings of drawings, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Compensation includes unlicensed $35/hr and licensed $40/hr, with a $10/hr incentive on project hours. Schedule is 6/10; per diem may apply for travelers. Benefits include 401(k), health/dental/vision, and more.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program with classroom and on‑the‑job training.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA70E and NEC safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, bend, cut and thread conduits up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
• Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
• Install conductors, termination of SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLCs, instruments, and junction boxes.
• Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Start up and commissioning experience is an asset.
• Understand NFPA70E and NEC safety requirements.
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and codes.
