Job summary

Kirby Electric is seeking a Journeyman electrician to work on low‑voltage signal distribution among microprocessor based devices and controls. Duties include installing, connecting, calibrating and servicing equipment that moves voice, data, and video signals and controls.

Travel across Washington state is required, with most jobs in the I‑5 corridor. Must hold at least NICET level 1 and a valid electrical license; strong safety practices and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• AT LEAST level 1 NICET certification is REQUIRED and willing to go up in Nicet levels as needed
• Valid Electrical license to practice.

Responsibilities

• Execute plans of electrical wiring for fire alarms and other electrical systems
• Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for fire alarms and other systems.
• Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit‑breaker panels etc.)
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
• Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.

Some duties may include installing, connecting, calibrating, and servicing products that move voice, video, audio, and data signals, and products that control mechanical and electrical apparatuses.

General Responsibilities
