Job summary

George McKenna Electrical Contractors is seeking an experienced Electrical Journeyman to join our team in Allen, TX. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NEC and local codes, with leadership duties and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of electrical experience, a valid Journeyman Electrician license, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician license required by state/local regulations.
• 5–10 years of electrical experience in commercial, multi-family, or residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders/lifts.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience supervising apprentices or small crews.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, lighting, and electrical devices.
• Test electrical systems and diagnose issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and local building codes.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades to maintain schedules.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work and materials used.
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
