Job summary

GEORGE MCKENNA ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our growing team. The Journeyman will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NEC, local codes, and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician License as required by state or local regulations.
• 5-10 years of electrical experience in commercial, multi-family, or residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC and code compliance.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience supervising apprentices or small crews.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, lighting, and electrical devices.
• Test electrical systems and identify issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with the NEC and local building codes.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials used.
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with the Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards. This position requires a highly skilled electrician with strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Essential Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
• Install conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, lighting, and electrical devices
• Test electrical systems and identify issues using appropriate diagnostic equipment
• Ensure all work complies with the Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project schedules

Qualifications

Required
