Job summary

FirstCall Mechanical in South Amboy, NJ is seeking an experienced Electrical Journeyman to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects. You will read blueprints, follow NEC codes, and work safely to ensure project success.

The role requires a valid NJ Electrical Journeyman license, an accredited apprenticeship, and at least four years of hands-on experience. You will mentor apprentices and collaborate with foremen to meet schedules while upholding

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program is required.
  • Valid state-issued Electrical Journeyman license.
  • 4+ years of electrical experience, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable local codes.
  • Experience with HVAC-related electrical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
  • Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, panel work, and terminations in compliance with NEC and local codes.
  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functionality and safety.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide timely, effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure project schedules and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized condition.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Mentor and guide apprentices and less experienced electricians.
  • Accurately document work performed and assist in maintaining project records.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Journeyman to join the fast-growing team. They will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems to support commercial HVAC and mechanical projects. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes and company standards.

Job Responsibilities

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position is reported directly to the Manager.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program is required.
