Astranis invites you to join our Electrical Integration Associate - RF internship for Summer 2027 in Northern California. You will collaborate with RF, Electrical, Mechanical, and Propulsion teams to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software on challenging space projects.

The role focuses on hands-on hardware development, test execution, and learning to use precision instruments. Ideal for graduates or soon-to-be graduates; on-site work required for the full 12‑week program.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and graduated within the last 6 months or currently enrolled in a post‑graduate program.
• Hands-on hardware development in fast-paced environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software
• Coordinate assembly, integration and environmental test efforts
• Learn to use test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, oscilloscopes) to execute test plans
• Assist with development of test plans and procedures with RF, electrical, mechanical, and propulsion teams
• Help solve complex electrical, software, and mechanical problems in an integrated system

Electrical Integration Associate - RF (Summer 2027)

Electrical Integration Associate - RF positions typically last for twelve weeks, and are salaried roles designed for students who have already received a bachelor’s degree (or who will have done so before working at Astranis).

As an Electrical Integration Associate - RF, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems — we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, and work on projects that are of equal importance and difficulty to the projects we give our full‑time employees. Many past Associate have designed and tested hardware/software that is heading to space on our first satellite, and many now work at Astranis full‑time.

Role

• Work on an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software
• Work with the Electrical, Mechanical, Radio Frequency, and Propulsion engineering teams to develop assembly and integration test plans and procedures based on concepts and designs
• Learn to use various pieces of test equipment and instruments (thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, oscilloscopes, etc.) to successfully execute test plans
• Coordinate assembly, integration and environmental test efforts
• Help solve complex electrical, software, and mechanical problems in an integrated system

Requirements

• Have a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent technical degree) and graduated within the last 6 months or currently enrolled in a post‑graduate program
• A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast‑paced environment and hands‑on design and development
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Strong communication skills
• Must be onsite 5 days a week

Bonus

• Hands‑on experience in designing, building, and testing complex electrical systems
• Experience writing Python code to: Interface with test equipment, process large datasets, visualize data
• Direct electrical or software design experience
• Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure

The base salary for this position is $1,925 per week.
