Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc is seeking an experienced Turnaround Planner with an E&I focus to support site turnarounds in the United States. The role emphasizes creating detailed job plans, attaching documentation, and validating plans as part of a dedicated validation team.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating, with strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and PlanIT. AACE/PMI certification is preferred and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor or Master in Construction Science or related field preferred.
  • AACEI or PMI certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial planning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare job plans for all work in assigned area using JMS, materials requests and contractor instructions.
  • Attach all relevant documentation to the plan, including drawings, photos, test procedures and cleaning procedures.
  • Validate job plans as part of the validation team.
  • Prepare workbooks for all supervisors in the area with copies of all paperwork.
  • Work with foremen to assist work familiarization and handoffs.
  • Collect status updates during execution and report at daily schedule meetings.
  • Attend SCR meetings to understand new work for the area.
  • Ensure SCR work is planned and passed to scheduler for the schedule.
  • Monitor SCR material availability to manage SCR work.
  • Update PlanIT for changes and reuse in future jobs.
  • Close out all job packs properly.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Support site turnarounds as an E&I focused Turnaround Planner.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • (Pre-Overhaul) Prepare job plans for all work in assigned area using, JMS, materials request, contractor instructions.
  • Attach all relevant documentation to the plan, including: Drawings Photos Test procedures Cleaning procedures
  • Validate job plans as part of the validation team.
  • Prepare workbooks for all supervisors in assigned area with copies of all paperwork needed.
  • Work with all foremen to assist work familiarization.
  • During Execution Collect status updates for all jobs in assigned areas and provide updates at the daily schedule update meeting.
  • Attend daily SCR meeting to understand new work for their area.
  • Ensure that SCR work is planned and passed to scheduler for adding to the schedule.
  • Monitor SCR material availability to allow management of SCR work.
  • Work with foremen to identify changes needed on regular job plans and make the changes in PlanIT for future re-use.
  • Ensure seamless handoff of work from trades to QA/QC and then to Operations.
  • Ensure all job packs are properly closed out.

Ideal Background Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.

Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

  • Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
  • Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

  • Per-diem at the going GSA rate is offered to those who qualify and can be discussed.
