Title and Reporting

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – Reports to Technical Leads Controls

Shift and Location

Night Shift 6:00pm-6:30am; McCalla, Alabama

Compensation

Base rate: $32–$42 per hour (based on prior experience). Night shift differential of $2.00 per hour is not included in the pay range.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain and clean production equipment, following GMP and documentation standards.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, sanitation activities, and preventative maintenance actions.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation equipment and software.
  • Use Studio5000 or Logix5000, Drives and Motion Control, FactoryTalk ME & SE, Ethernet/IP Control Network, Power Distribution systems.
  • Coach team members on equipment operation, defect identification, and repair techniques.
  • Lead projects to improve safety, quality, or production results within assigned area.
  • Maintain accurate electronic database of repair and maintenance activities, parts usage and time tracking.
  • Facilitate shift passdowns, discussing safety, quality, and production issues with prior/next shift.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with electrical systems, PLC, motor and motion controls, SCADA, sensors, and instrumentation in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing safety and GMP practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, GMPs and general instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy; ability to use email and maintenance enterprise systems.
  • Physical ability to work 12‑hour shifts, lift up to 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Vision requirement: minimum 20/40 in each eye.
