Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an E/I Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, test, repair, install and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for production equipment.

The role requires understanding of high voltage equipment, PLCs, safety practices including lockout/tagout and NFPA 70E. You will operate test equipment, read diagrams and manuals, and support continuous mill operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment of various voltages, including 0V up to 161,000V.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment including motors, transformers, relays, cables and control panels.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment including transmitters, valves, I/Ps, positioners and meters.
• Operate test equipment and computer software programs such as Windows, SAP, PLC software, PI Datalink, and Outlook.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and NFPA 70E; maintain CPR and safety training; respond to production or maintenance calls.
