Job summary

Orion Engineers & Constructors is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Designer to support client projects in Chickasaw, AL and Pensacola, FL. The role focuses on coordinating design activities, updating drawings, and supporting commissioning and startup.

Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and SCADA systems is preferred. The position requires field involvement, on-site work, and potential travel to other client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrumentation and electrical design in industrial settings.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and plant operations is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and specifications.
• Must be able to pass safety and background checks and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instrumentation design with project team from estimate through design stages.
• Produce E&I bid/construction packages and drawings with proper reviews.
• Support field activities including startups and loop checks.
• Assist with creating and updating DCS/SCADA tag databases.
• Provide on-site assistance to commissioning/startup teams and troubleshoot instrument issues.
