Job summary

Cenovus Energy is offering a Co-Op/Internship for Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering students in Lima, OH and Toledo, OH. The position is a 4-month term starting September 2026, with work authorization required and a screening questionnaire after applying.

Students will assist with Feasibility studies, FEED, data collection, and engineering package reviews, while receiving mentorship and exposure to PLC/SIS field work and real-world projects.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in Electrical/Instrumentation/Elect Engineering at time of work term and returning to full-time studies after term.
• Masters or PhD candidates may be considered for the program.
• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Electrical and Instrumentation projects including feasibility study, FEED, data collection, equipment specification, redlines/update drawings/documents, scope of work development, and engineering package review.
• Provide Electrical, Instrumentation, PLC, and SIS field support for maintenance, troubleshooting, construction, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
• Streamline preventive maintenance optimization, report review, work package development, and work notification for corrective actions and follow-up.
• Assist with PLC and SIS troubleshooting, engineering, programming, and loop checks.
• Assist with reliability studies and failure investigations.
